B. New Business
Goals and ideas for the coming year were discussed.
- Membership Drive:
- Start a survey amongst our membership on Survey Monkey to assess preferences, needs, and most-liked activities, with the goal to attract new members. Susan and Charlotte are going to work on composing a set of questions for the survey.
- Attract new members to the club with new member-only activities such as:
- Workshops with a pro. Charlotte will explore these options further.
- Revisit the idea of starting a drop-in round robin again on a weekday in the morning or evening. The Wednesday round robin dissolved, and there is none currently available.
- Recommendation for pros currently teaching on EC courts to affiliate with ECTC.
- Leverage the QuickStart Program, which was a great success last year and attracted about 30 new members, to generate interest and increased participation in the Club. Margo will coordinate this program in 2011.
- El Cerrito High School Boys' Tennis Team: ECTC was approached by parents of the ECHS boys' tennis team to assist with a solution to their need for coaching their team this upcoming season. The board came to the conclusion that it would be preferable to have an experienced person able to teach tennis take on such a task. It was decided to send an email to the membership requesting their input. Ellen will compose a draft and send this to the board. After approval by the board, Darrell will then send this to the membership.
- Next Meeting: The next quarterly board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 6:30 p.m., at the home of Susan Brand, 6154 Bernhard Ave., Richmond, 94805.
Respectfully submitted by Ellen de Neef.
